Our popular 8"x12" Matte Prints are the simplest and most affordable way to get a classy Thurston Photo product in your hands. Absolutely ideal for any gift occasion without breaking the budget at only $50AU. Printed on high quality Satin Matte Photo Paper, the print is embedded into a light foam matte board about 8mm thick. They come wrapped in a plastic sleeve and upon sliding it out you'll experience a clean, ready to hang piece of art to suit any room in the house!
Our frameless Acrylic Panels are our most eye catching way to display your new Thurston Photo print. To achieve the most modern and clean finish to your wall art, the 6mm fused Acrylic Panel is a sure way to go. The back mount sets the panel about 8mm out form the wall creating a floating, borderless, full bleed image to compliment any modern day dwelling.
Why we use Perspex (Acrylic) and NOT glass.
Perspex looks IDENTICAL to glass but is HALF the weight and 50 TIMES more impact resistant, meaning that if your panel were to be dropped in transit or be accidentally knocked to the floor once displayed in your home, it would not shatter. Being half the weight of glass is a critical consideration: very rarely can a Gyprock wall bear the full weight of a glass panel without additional supports. Our panels are easy to mount and beautiful to look at.
About the Acrylic panels...
Each Acrylic panel is printed to METALLIC PHOTOGRAPHIC MEDIA only (with a printer loaded with museum-grade ie. 75 year archival inks), which gives the piece a glossy, reflective look. Although they are a fraction more expensive to our framing option, the full bleed look and the rich depth in colour and sharpness is an ideal choice for the clean, modern look.
Each panel is a quality 6mm thick to avoid warping, fade resistant and is mounted using the ‘French Cleat’ hanging system. ( Instructions on mounting included in delivery. )

“The canvas is then tensioned and stretched onto a Professional Stretcher Bar (Not rounded pine from the hardware store!). The stretcher bar is kiln dried, finger jointed, profiled plantation pine. Then fixed with ‘Stainless Steel’ staples. That don't rust! :) The Canvas back is then finished with Henkel tape (with a very aggressive stable adhesive) and a hanger cord attached.”

About our Framed Prints...
Our imagery is printed using an ICC (International Colour Consortium) colour managed system. This ensures our images are rich in colour, density, contrast, saturation and sharpness. It all starts with our industry leading Epson 9900 Printer which uses the highest quality printer ink available "Epson Ultra Chrome High Dynamic Range Ink".
"Our colour management system is exceptional. The technicians at DES have developed profiles specifically for our printing requirements. The R.I.P (Raster Interface Protocol) we use is a world leader in digital print controllers for wide-format printers. For high quality digital photographic output we choose Chromajet Centurion Photo Silk 285, Photo Paper.
CENTURION Photo Silk 285 is a super white smooth paper and has the look and feel of a traditional silver halide photo paper because of its true photographic resin coated substrate base. The paper is specifically designed for high quality professional photographic output. It has an increased colour gamut, deeper black density and improved scuff resistance. Unlike other papers on the market the optical brighteners have been incorporated into the RC base. This unique feature means the paper will be more resistant to fading and yellowing. Optical brighteners can breakdown overtime due to sunlight exposure, moving the OBA’s to the base, gives the paper stronger archival characteristics. Bascially, our supplier is equipped and able to deliver the highest-quality photo prints avaialble in Australia.
So you can trust you’ll be receiving a premium quality print.
Our selection of mouldings reflect the latest in display fashion. Select from our 5 styles in store. We use high quality materials and machinery.
